As New Testament believers, we have the Holy Spirit living in us and can receive personal direction for our lives from the Word of God and by His Spirit. In contrast, those living under the Old Covenant did not have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them since Jesus had not yet come. They had the law, but for specific direction, they would have to go to one of God’s prophets to hear God’s direction for their lives.  In this message, Pastor Chris goes deeper into the differences between the Old Testament and New Testament prophets, their relationship with believers, and how their ministry gifts accomplish the personal affections and desires of God in our lives.  As part of our equipping, and because of His great love for us, God has sent the gift of His prophets to instill in us a greater measure of joy, comfort, assurance, and faith. They are given in love and are to be received in love.
